Week 5: EOC Social Networks and Job Hunting
Reading about how companies are starting to look for new employees through Facebook and other social media networks such as LinkedIn has opened my eyes to how much easier, and difficult it will to find a job for the years to come. I cannot fathom the idea that some day, paper applications and resume's will be replaced with your Facebook page. To think that I can get a job or lose a job based off a Facebook post is a little scary; however, I myself do not really post all that much on social networks. This in turn will make me look more professional than everyone else out there on these social media networks. I personally hope that the day when I have children they will be smart about posting on their pages or what ever new social media networking they will do, so that someday that they too can have a professional out look. I guess with all this new technological networking that my generation will have to be rather tough on our children to make the world a better, more advanced working force, but this only starts with us! So we cannot just sit around and make ourselves look unprofessional because its going to affect our lives down the road and possibly our children's lives.

Week 4: Telephone App EOC
I think a Taser App is needed in the world of smartphones. Just think instead of carrying one of those big bulky tasers around you could have an app on your phone that would charge up the phones battery and channel that energy to the earpiece/headphone jack. One would simply press anywhere on the app to discharge their full batter into the person at the other end of the earpiece/headphone jack. The app also has 3 levels to pick from! You can pick low level, where one could use it on a little sibling for getting into the cookie jar, or your pet dog who goes doo-doo on the carpet! Medium level would be for larger animals and friends, what better way to wake up your sleeping friend with a wonderful tase to them to help them wake up in class! And obviously the max level would be used to take down offenders or something that is a threat to you. The down side to this app is that it would completely drain your phone battery to nothing so one wouldn't be able to make a call after the charge, and or if there wasn't enough energy (IE: your batty is below 25%) it may, or may not have an impacting effect on your target. Also one would have to know, not to hold the metallic parts or areas of your phone or you too would be tased with the target as well. Well that is my idea for a new smartphone app! Now if only there was a way for me to use this app along with my alarm to make sure I absolutely wake up for work in the morning that will be great! (That update will be released at a later time this year!) Keep your eyes peeled for the enw TASER app!

Week 3 EOC: My Demographics
Generation Y mainly is focused on the population group in the US born from somewhere around 1976 to around 2000, most are born from Baby Boomers thus, refers the term "Echo Boomers." They are sometimes called echo boomers because some of them are the children of baby boomers. On the other hand, some Generation Y children, especially those born in the late 1980's or afterwards, may be the grandchildren of baby boomers. Other names for this group are the Millennials. How ever there are current debates and discussions going on about the time frames due to the idea that it is very easily that someone who was born in the mid to late 1970's could easily have a child in the mid 1990's to early 2000's.
I personally am a child of two baby boomers who were both born in the late 1940's and Early 1950's. My sister and I are both apart of the Demographic "Generation Y" or "Echo Boomers." When it comes to my personal demographic and researching about it, as I do this blog. I find a lot of interesting stuff that explains a whole lot about my sister and myself. These traits such as we are both highly digitally inclined which I personally never thought about in-depth but makes a whole lot of sense. How ever there were a lot of Baby Boomers, approximately 79 million of them have lead to "Generation Y" to be even bigger at approximately over 100 million. With this massive growth rate of population all progressing in these times of need can explain the high rates of poverty rising. Another thing about "Generation Y" is that they are so much more racially and ethnically diverse and they are much more segmented as an audience, which makes sales pitch and marketing more difficult for companies. Most of "Generation Y" have grown up with duel-income or single parent families, so family outing such as shopping has increased. We are also more flexible and can change with the ever fast evolving ways of the world that we encounter today, just based around the simple fact that we are the forerunners of the internet and globally being able to connect through social media networks.

Week 2 EOC: Boston Consulting Group - Video Games
Video games, its a big part of our society and contains several different aspects of peoples lives. For instance, a video game takes images, sound files, actors and actresses, graphic and drawing artforms, story boards and story writing; video games take a lot to make, and not just money wise. The video game market is a big market, but with the recession over the past couple years, the market for video games and video game consols has been very interestingly up and down. I think that video games are a constant growth rate, everyone buys the games for their gaming console. Yet the growth rate of video game consols are not extremely high. Another aspect that would interact with the selling of video game consols is that, video games consols have ever changing data format for the discs themselves. This means, newer the consol the different format the game has to be in, where other gaming consols can not read these formats. Hence a growth in video game consols will rise; which in theory with new gaming consols that will be coming out with a new video game disk format, sales in both will skyrocket.

Week 1 EOC: My Voice
I
am Eric Smith from Eric Smith Productions; also referred to as ESP. I primarily
focus on mixing and mastering music. I also focus on Pre/Post production for
several genres: All forms of Rock and Metal, Hip Hop, R&B and several
different forms of Pop. My personal view is to bring back the raw emotion of
artists back into their performance for their artwork. In today's music
industry everything is so nonchalant and is taken for granted. If we as a
community can focus on the aspects that have been lost such as; dynamics in
both quality of audio and arrangement of the music primarily focusing on vocals
(let us get rid of the auto-tune, the monotone singer that just stands there
and talks into a microphone) and bring them back music will have a better
impact on people. If we can all come together and decide to push out music that
contained all of these the industry would be able to most likely boost revenue
on an annual time frame. This means we start to phase out mp3 files; with the
ever advancing technology with storage why do we need to be compressing audio
files down to sizes that barely take up room. With radio broadcasting and the
new developing technologies of online radio if we broaden up the audio spectrum
to make the music sound more full people are going to be wanting more of that
for the simple fact of quality. Over compression of files lessens file quality.
Another aspect of music that has been lost in the sands of times is song
meaning; lyrics. In today's era of music every artist, new artist and some old
all write about the same topics; Break-up songs; explicit songs revolving
around sex and drugs, and how much money or cool objects and luxuries an artist
may own, his has all come down to the same song repeating over and over but in
different versions. I will admit that there are a couple exceptions that
I personally view to be helping to bring back the same concepts that I want to
bring back into music and perfect! Keep doing what you are and do everything in
your power as an artist to not conform to what’s 'popular' on the radio or
other social media. I can’t make these changes in OUR industry, not
by myself. I need YOU the artist to help me make music better for the
listeners! I focus on mixing and mastering so that your music sounds the same
through all sources; ear buds, headphones, TV, Computers, Car Stereos Radio
Broadcasting and many other places. It’s not up to me on how your listeners
listen to your music; it’s the industries we work for! We as individuals have
to come together and demand that we can make music more clear not for us but
for our listeners. That is what my view is about, and my voice is only as loud
as it can be through your voice. (Literally- you’re the singer; I’m not on the
album.)

Week 1 EOC: Great Customer Service
Customer Service is a topic that is extremely important when it comes to dealing with all industries. The way I deal with customer service is to portray myself in a calm and understanding way, no matter what possible mood or personal belief about the situation(s). One may always think, the customer always comes first. This is true by all means however when I deal with customers demanding something or asking for a specific technique I will let them know I will try their idea's but no promises. I reassure people that I am here to make their sound the best I possibly can, to grab the attentions of listeners, and to hold onto their attentions in all aspects. People in my industry (Audio and Music Industry) always want things fast especially at low levels of fame-dome (The little guys trying to make it big.) They all want to rush it and I will always try and teach them things about the industry that I come to understand and reassure them that my route is the best route for them to take. Slow, steady and to achieve the goal in mind.
